Iron Curtain Public Art, Budapest

This new monument was unveiled in August of this year, directly in front of the Museum of Terror in Budapest, Hungary. It uses big, rusty chains that are somewhat pliable, tempting children to yank on them. The words “Iron Curtain” are cut into the base of the monument in a variety of languages. The side inscriptions pictured here are in English on one side and Hungarian on the other. Iron Curtain Monument BudapestIron Curtain 2Iron Curtain Monument 3Iron Curtain Monument 4

  1. Very interesting. The rust adds a symbolic element as well.
